On June 16th, 2008, same sex marriages began taking place in California. Prior to May 16th, when a ruling allowing same sex marriages in California took place, gay and lesbian couples were forced to travel elsewhere to marry one another. But as of June 16th, the allowance for same sex marriages began, and wedding bells chimed all over the state.

Many gay and lesbian couples are not sure where to start with choosing wedding rings for each other. A marriage is a lifelong commitment to love, fidelity and each other, and it's not always easy to select the rings that will symbolize that everlasting bond. This is especially true with marriages that are made between men and men, and women and women, as opposed to the traditional man and woman marriage. While marriage is certainly a tradition, men marrying other men and women marrying other women is a relatively new thing in terms of being legally able to, so these couples may want to seek out rings that aren't traditional.

Seeking out a token of your love in an alternative style is now easier than ever with all the new materials and colors offered these days. Metals are being used that were never considered for fine jewelry before. Combinations of different metals can be done with new state of the art technical perfection. The Triton tungsten ring collection is a set worth looking at. From wedding bands to standard rings, these tungsten rings offer sleek profiles that are plain, grooved or inset with intricate designs that are sure to draw the eye. Edward Mirell offers beautiful and brilliant pieces with anodized rainbow ring accent to show your colorful side.

One idea for women is to look at black titanium rings. Titanium is obviously the material used in these rings, though titanium itself is not black: it is a grayish/white color. It is turned black through a process in which Black-Ti is combined with titanium, and temperature and atmospheric conditioning cause the alloy to turn black. Black titanium rings are gorgeous, the Artcarved collection is especially stylish. This line of rings come in plain form, as well as grooves of silver and gold, and even included set diamonds.

For men, black titanium rings are an option, but another idea to consider is a tungsten ring. Why opt for tungsten? Tungsten is a material that offers rings that are sleek, amazing to look at and durable. Tungsten is a relatively new material for rings, and so it brings to the table something fresh and innovative.

Just a Little History on Mens Rings

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Mens rings date back several centuries. Centuries ago, rings signified wealth, power and status. Today, the majority of mens rings come in the form of mens wedding bands. As you know, these mens rings are used to symbolize marriage, fidelity and commitment. But there are still many men who wear mens rings for purposes other than having a tangible symbol of marriage, and those rings come in a variety of sizes, designs, styles, and are available in many different materials: silver, gold, platinum, titanium and tungsten, just to name a few.

Because many men are very particular about what type of jewelry they'll wear and how much (if any!), it's important to be careful and precise when selecting potential pieces of jewelry for them. Many men want something unique, and all men want something that is masculine. At the risk of being repetitive, give the selection of mens jewelry careful thought, particularly if you are looking at mens rings.

Gold, silver and diamond are all perfectly acceptable choices for mens rings, but gold and diamond convey wealth and extravagance. Many men are looking for something a little more low key in their choice of mens rings, in which case silver would be a better choice.

Platinum, titanium and tungsten mens rings are also possible choices. These materials are a bit newer on the market, but they are stunning, durable, long lasting, and they are not excessively flashy. Platinum is a particular favorite, because it is not only strong and durable, but has a tendency of developing a sheen over a long period of time. Platinum in mens rings can also be used to create different facets, angles and twists. Titanium is also an often favored material for mens rings, because it is strong while being very light -- it typically weighs only a third of what gold weighs!

Once you have decided on a material, the next selection will be the design you want your mens ring to have. Some men want simple bands, while others are drawn to mens rings that portray a certain hobby, interest or belief. Zodiac rings are popular choices for spiritual men, while gambling mens rings might be an option for those who love to gamble.

Mens rings can also be accented with gemstones. Emerald, ruby, topaz, aquamarine, tanzanite...who's to say that those precious gems are reserved for women only? With the right size and cut, an inset gem can look stunning on a variety of mens rings.

Mens Wedding Bands and Tradition

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 AM | 0 comments »

Mens wedding bands are traditionally worn at the base of the left ring finger. Although in some parts of the world, mens wedding bands may instead be seen worn on the right ring finger. As you know, a wedding band symbolizes marriage. Men and women wear wedding bands to symbolize their marriage and show off their commitment to fidelity, and to their spouse. This custom originates from Europe, but obviously has spread widely and throughout the world!

During a wedding ceremony, it is typically the man that produces the mens wedding bands and womens wedding bands to exchange with his bride. But some ceremonies make use of ring bearers. These are typically young boys that are a part of either family. Their job is to carry the mens wedding band and womens wedding band on a special cushion or pillow up to the altar, where the rings are then placed on the marrying couple's fingers.

While most religions and cultures allow bands of any material for marriage, mens wedding bands are primarily made of precious yellow gold, or possibly white gold. These are put together using yellow alloy of gold, copper, tin and bismuth. White gold is another popular choice for mens wedding bands, though the yellow white gold alloy has been replaced with nickel-gold alloy, and then rhodium. Titanium and platinum are also great choices for mens wedding bands. Titanium in particular is a popular choice, because it's durable, affordable, and an acceptable, ideal color of gun metal gray. Tungsten is another popular choice for mens wedding bands. There is also nickel silver and stainless steel. Both of these materials are good for constructing mens wedding bands that are pleasing to the eye, durable and yet very affordable. Less popular choices for materials for mens wedding bands include silver, brass and copper. These corrode and break down over time, which is why they are not often used.

Mens wedding bands can complement the style of womens wedding bands, or they can create their own unique look. While mens wedding bands are often wider than womens wedding bands, they can be simple in design or elegant in design. Some bands may have plain finishes, while others have bands, grooves, engravings, even bandings of colors and other precious metals, such as gold or diamond or even platinum. Diamond Shopping Guide

Posted by Wealth Group | 8:18 PM | 0 comments »

When shopping for diamonds you should know what to look for. You have probably

heard about the 4 C's. The 4C's are the main traits that diamonds are graded

and valued for. The four C's stand for Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat.

Cut is the style of cut the diamond is shaped. There are many different cuts,

but the main styles are Round and Princess. The Round Brilliant cut has become

the most popular. It has been mathematically and emperically perfected to produce

a great mixture of showcasing the diamond's luster, clarity, whiteness, fire,

and brilliance. The Princess cut is the second most popular diamond cut. It is

popular among diamond cutters because it wastes the least amount of diamond. The

princess cut showcases more of the fire and brilliance than the other traits.

Carat is another of the four c's. Carat is probably the easiest of the traits for

people to grasp and determine. It is basically just the weight of the diamond. A

carat is 200 milligrams. One thing to look for is Total carat weight. Total carat

weight, or t.c.w, is the sum of the weight all the diamonds in the jewelry piece.

The best thing to ask or look for when buying a multi-stone piece is what is the

main stone's weight.

Another of the 4 C's is Clarity. Clarity is how perfect the diamond is and is

graded in scales of either VVS1 (Very Very Slight), VVS2, VS1 (Very Slight), VS2,

SI1 (Slightly Included), SI2, I1 (Included), and I2. Imperfections happen when

the diamond was formed many many years ago. Inclusions are the main imperfections

in diamonds. Inclusions could be foreign material crystals, structural imperfections,

or other diamond crystals. Only 20 percent of all mined diamonds have the clarity

suited for gem quality.

The last of the 4 C's is color. Colorless, the most sought after color is not really

not a color. The color is graded and noted on a scale of D-Z. A diamond with the

color grade of D is considered colorless and is very valuable. Diamonds of D-F color

are considered colorless, then G-J are near-colorless, K-M are considered slightly

colored, and N-Y are usually light yellow or brown. This is from the nitrogen being

present in the diamonds. There are other other colors though that are rare. Fancy

diamonds are diamonds with unusual or intense color. Some fancy colors include

yellow, red, blue, green, and pink. There is a different scale gemologists use for

fancy diamonds but they are so rare that they aren't commonly used.

That is the basics when it comes to the popular four C's of diamond grading and

valuation. Everyone has their own tastes when it comes to diamond jewelry. Some

people like princess cut diamonds more than round cuts, or they may prefer the

higher priced solitaire rings and others like the multi-stone rings. People even

have differences in which category they would sacrifice in order to attain

greatness in another category. Such as some people may sacrifice color for

a bigger diamond.

How to find best caterer?

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love throwing parties. And not just small intimate gatherings either. I'm talking big time affairs with lots of food, plenty of booze and full on decorations. In short, I go all out when it comes to entertaining.

Let me give you an idea of what I'm talking about. A few years ago, I was in charge of planning a luncheon for the people I worked with at a local CBS television affiliate. It just happened the date of luncheon fell during the same week the network was airing a brand new Elvis Presley mini-series. As soon as I made the connection, the ideas started flowing like water from the faucet.

Thinking back to all those Elvis movies I watched as a kid, I chose the theme from my favorite of all time, Blue Hawaii. After choosing the theme, I worked out the menu. I went ahead and ordered two large pineapple baked hams, a few roasted chickens and a half a dozen pineapples. This was a good start to our feast.

When it came to decorations, I went crazy buying dozens of cheap grass skirts, covering all the tables in green and yellow linens. I even hand crafted a Paper Mache pig which I had turning over a fake spit. That was awesome.

But here's where things went sour, at least for me. In the two hours before the luncheon, I was crazy busy. I decorated the outdoor patio and moved everything into place.

And that's not all. Because everything was fresh from the oven, I ended up having to slice the ham and carve the chickens myself. Not to mention, preparing the pineapples and mixing together the salads. And to make things worse, I forgot ice. I didn't even get to eat because I didn't have time.

While I got high marks for the party, I decided that when the next luncheon comes around things would be done differently. I would put the stress of the party on someone else. That's when I started looking into catering services.

As it turns out, I could have hired someone to do all the work for about the same amount of money that I spent doing it myself. While I did like the planning and preparing aspects, it was just way too much to do while trying to do while completing my other daily job tasks.

But there are a few things to consider when choosing a catering professional.

You've got to plan ahead and plan early. Based on my experience, it's best to start the ball rolling a few months early (if possible).

Next, decide on the details. You'll want to have all the details for your event worked out. You'll need to the date, time, location and number of expected guests.

If you don't have a regular caterer, it's a good idea to ask around. Trust me, your friends and co-workers have been to enough catered events to know the difference between getting the job done and doing it right.

Doing a little research is always a good idea. That means find out how long your potential caterer has been in business, what kind of affairs they have catered in the past. And if you are a real detective, you'll want to check with the local health department. They'll have records of any problems or health violations filed against the business. Trust me, that's really good information these days.

Once you decide on a caterer, make sure you set up a face to face meeting where you can discuss menus, get to know the caterer and try some samples. And remember to seal your deal with a contract that includes every imaginable cost. At this point, you'll likely have to put down a 50% deposit. That's pretty standard.

In the weeks before your event, stay in contact with your caterer. They need to stay informed of any changes with the venue, the guest list or the theme.

And in the days before the event, plan a meeting with your caterer to go over final details including their arrival times and set up times. It's also a good idea of finalize your guest list with any additions or subtractions.

Although these tips sound pretty basic, they can help insure that you enjoy your next party as much as your guests. Take care.

Diamond engagement rings symbolize true love, dedication and commitment. It is proudly and traditionally worn by a bride-to-be as a powerful symbol that she is "taken" and will soon be married to her true love. The ring is viewed as an indication of love, faith, fidelity, celebration, and the wealth of the groom. By placing the ring on his soon-to-be-wife, the groom gives the world an outward demonstration that he not only loves his special someone, but also can afford to marry her and take her from her father's care. Diamond engagement rings, with their perfect clarity and indestructible nature, have come to symbolize the purity and eternal commitment between a man and his wife.

You must be aware of the fact that diamonds are relatively new as gemstones for engagement rings, the result of some very clever marketing by the diamond trade industry about 150 years ago. Other precious gemstones like sapphires, rubies, pearls and emeralds served as symbols of an engagement to be married in many countries, especially among royalty. Today, diamond engagement rings dominate the bridal jewelry industry. Diamonds are mainly favored for the setting of engagement rings because of their stunning merits. No matter what you personally decide for your lady, but your special someone will always expect a diamond engagement ring! That's the reason; estimated 80% of all the engagement rings sold every year are studded with diamonds.

The other reason for supremacy and popularity of diamond is that it comes now in more variations, settings, shapes and even in colors. Nowadays, more and more soon-to-be-engaged couples are selecting the engagement rings together. When couples exchange their engagement rings to each other, they more than likely can't wait to tell their friends all about their engagement rings. And diamond engagement ring is a sort of ring that makes people take notice and it sends a message to your bride-to-be that she is unique and so special for you. Diamond ring truly complements love.

Current bridal fashion trends favors a solitaire diamond engagement ring set in a band of yellow or white gold, sterling silver, or platinum. However, there are limitless rings for you to choose from, or have custom-designed on online jewelry stores. The cut of the diamond may catch your eye; Princess cut, Tiffany cut, Cartier cut, Square cut, Pear cut, Teardrop cut, Bezel cut, or Round cut – all are mesmerizing and irresistible. The gorgeous Trilogy ring with its three equal-sized diamonds is said to represent the past, the present, and the future. The clarity of the diamond engagement ring is important to many brides. Clear white diamonds of SI-1 or SI-2 have no carbon specks or flaws. Most diamond engagement rings must pass rigorous tests by the Gemologist International Association to be declared IF-VS2 clarity, and are considered to be either Ideal or Premium cut. Alternatively, some buyers actually prefer to have a carbon speck deeply imbedded in their diamond as a reminder that the diamond is a creation of nature, formed from the blackest carbon into a thing of eternal beauty.

So, it can be said that nothing complements love better than diamond. Diamond jewelry and love are forever.

Diamond engagement rings, with their perfect clarity and indestructible nature, have come to symbolize the purity and eternal commitment between a man and his wife. Diamonds are mainly favored for the setting of engagement rings because of their stunning merits. No matter what you personally decide for your lady, but your special someone will always expect a diamond engagement ring!

With all of the expenses that go into a wedding, often times the money that would otherwise be spent on expensive wedding favors can be better spent elsewhere on the wedding. This of course, means that you are going to have to give out cheap wedding favors. However; if it is done thoughtfully you can really pull a rabbit out of a hat and send everyone off with wedding favors that they will love.

Everyone Loves Candy

Of course everyone loves candy and you won't have to look too far to find loads of choices in individual sized mini-candies that you can fill small gift bags with. Another great idea, is to fill small gift bags with cookies and brownies that you can make yourself. Don't forget to throw in lots of nuts when you are mixing up the batter.

Buy in Bulk

Stop by your local party supply store and see what they have to offer. You may want to make up small gift bags that contain things like party-poppers and party hats that everyone can use to have fun with at the wedding reception. Remember that what ever cheap wedding favors that you finally decide on, you will get them even cheaper if you buy in bulk.

Shop for them Early

The biggest factor in what kind of deal you end up getting on your cheap wedding favors, is how early you get started looking and preparing for them. Waiting until the last days to take care of this task will mean that you will have far fewer choices to select from. Also, remember that it is the thought that counts and as long as the cheap wedding favors that you provide your guests with are thoughtful, clever and well thought out, everything will be just fine.

Buying Diamonds on the Internet

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

When buying Diamonds these days off the internet these days are lots of options and lots of discounts but are all diamond retailers the same? I don't think so. With all the promised hype and deep discounts of smaller companies selling diamonds one can rest assure that the bigger boys are the ones in the industry that do come with promises they can keep but the smaller company's have options to upgrades you can't deny. For instance Diamond International. Has the same return policy of any big dealer like Blue Nile, or De Beers. 30 Days from the point of sale but what they don't mention is anything about upgrading your diamond. Diamond International will fully upgrade the Diamond for the full amount. One thing I found interesting doing research is reading terms of purchasing anything off the internet. If you look you can see the bigger Diamonds retailers they have this option but now Upgrade terms. The bigger companies have the advantages of having an inventory that any diamond lover will enjoy and new products coming out all the time plus they have stores worldwide so if something should happen to your diamond you can have them fix your jewelry right away. Something the smaller stores don't have. The Diamond Industry is a competitive industry with little room for error. Doing my research I've found though out the companies I looked at they where all good! Top-Notch customer service, Top-Notch Diamonds, Top-Notch everything. I'd say I don't find any company that sells Conflict Diamonds. So that's a good thing. All-in-All the Diamond Retailers I reviewed are really good. All bring the 4 C's to the table and the excellence is everywhere. So I think the main issue comes down to Branding or Better Support. Branding of the Bigger Companies are rest assured that you will get there quality bar-none. The Smaller companies give you extra options like free upgrade for the lifetime of the diamond for the full-value if you go with them.

Unique Bridesmaid Trends of Style & Jewelry

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Not all bridesmaids have the same look and styles, and brides this year are reflecting their unique personalities in their bridesmaid jewelry. There are many different ways to incorporate your various bridesmaids styles into their bridesmaids jewelry. You may have a bridesmaid that is used to wearing big hoop earrings or bold necklaces and another that wears very tiny earrings or barely any jewelry at all. This is where selecting custom bridesmaid jewelry to match your bridesmaids personalities, style and sizes is key.

Decide on one color palate that makes sense for the color of gown your bridesmaids will be wearing. Once you have determined what color palate will work best for your wedding style, the rest is easy. Browse through the various styles of earrings, bracelets and necklaces to find exactly what each individual bridesmaid would look appropriate and comfortable in. You can choose the same necklaces for each maid and then a different pair of earrings, or select different pieces of jewelry all together for each bridesmaid. Whatever you decide, sticking with the same color palate throughout is a wonderful way to diversify while still coordinating together.

A popular trend this season is brides selecting the same style necklace for each bridesmaid and then choosing different earrings for each bridesmaids personality. This is a great gift idea to allow your bridesmaids to show their own uniqueness. Another popular trend is brides allowing bridesmaids to select their own dress styles, but keep all of the dresses the exact same color. When a bride opts to do this, the neckline styles can all be different, which is a great time to select different necklaces for each bridesmaid that compliments their own personal gown. By doing this, you are still coordinating your colors and style into the wedding, but allowing each bridesmaid to be different.

No matter what you decide to do when accessorizing your bridesmaids for your wedding, have fun with it. Your bridesmaids have been excited and planning right along with you, a gift of jewelry that compliments both their styles and personalities will be noticed and appreciated.

Unique Designer Men's Rings

Posted by Wealth Group | 8:18 PM | 0 comments »

Men's diamond rings actually haven't been around all that long. Up until about 120 years ago, there weren't even men's wedding bands. It was very unusual for even a woman to wear a diamond wedding band. Major diamond merchants such as DeBeers in their attempts to create new markets managed to sell the idea of matched women's and mens wedding rings, but the "diamond" part – mainly for economic reasons – didn't catch on until much later. Until around 1950 or so, when government economic policies allowed the growth of an American middle class, womens and mens wedding bands were basically simple, unadorned gold or silver rings. It has only been in the last half-century or so that men's diamond rings have become popular.

Jewelry For The Male

Men have been wearing jewelry at least as long as women, of course, but usually for different reasons. Whereas women's jewelry is meant to adorn and enhance the wearer's beauty, men's jewelry has traditionally been worn as a status symbol, badge of rank, or even in recognition of achievement.

When it comes to men's wedding bands, there are several options available, but few consist of the plain gold band of yesteryear. Popular motifs include Celtic knot work patterns, Greek key designs, Arabic geometric patters and even abstract designs. Often, these can be engraved.

What is the difference between men's diamond rings and a diamond wedding band? Not much; men's wedding rings can fall into either category. Generally, a diamond wedding band does not have a large gem, prominently mounted, but does have small diamonds embedded in the surface.

Beyond Gold

All three varieties of gold (yellow, white and rose) are beautiful, but soft and not particularly durable. The surface can be easily scratched, and gold will tarnish over time. As a result, some prominent jewelers have been offers men's wedding rings in new, harder and more exotic metals such as tungsten, platinum and palladium. These metals are extremely hard and resistant to tarnish, making them excellent heirlooms.

Today, one can find a mind-boggling variety of mens diamond rings, either as solitaires or as part of a wedding set. The gems set into rings for men are generally square-cut rather than round cut, but again, the choice is up to the buyer. Some jewelers sell wedding sets as "semi mounts," meaning that no gem is inserted into the mounting until the customer chooses one. They represent just a small fraction of what is available on the market today in men's diamond rings.

Event planning has never been an easy task but it can be made easier with the help of an Event Planner. An event planner may handle all types of tasks related to an event from budgeting, selecting site, catering, entertainment, gifts, transportation to supervising your event.

Selection of an experienced event planner is important as this can make your event an unforgettable experience. Corporate event planning is very dissimilar to a wedding event planning. The décor, food and theme of the event is more sophisticated in a corporate event, as the party can be thrown for a business meet to impress colleagues. For such event planning you need a very experienced and skillful event planner. A corporate event planning can be for charity fundraiser event, conferences, award events, exhibitions, sporting events, executive retreats, etc.

An event planner can also be beneficial for planning private party event. You might lack the expertise and time to plan the party, so an independent event planner can step in to give special attention even to a small private party.

How to Choose the Right Catering Service

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Choice of a catering service should be made wisely because food plays an integral role in a party and selecting an appropriate catering service make the entire process effortless. Before you start searching for the catering services, you should get yourself organized. It is better to make notes than storing everything in your mind.

Many aspects should be cleared before you finalize any caterer for the services. Every event would call for different catering services. Like wedding, which is a lavish and a lifetime affair requires someone who specializes in wedding catering.

After understanding your event and choosing your venue, sit down to make a list that contains all the details like date, time, location, kitchen availability, alcohol needs, serving needs, number of guests, dietary concerns, your expected budget, etc. of the event before you start researching for the caterers. Bidding online for your event is also a good idea because this opens doors to various catering services to bid for your event by saving your precious time and with this list you can receive accurate bids for your event on various gourmet websites like BidG

Discuss the menu and understand the area of specialty of the caterer service. Some catering services are little ridged in their menu choices so it's better to ask them whether they have set menus or welcome any customized menus according to theme of your party? Are they open to accommodate guests with food allergies? Do they use fresh, frozen or canned food?

Also see the color photographs of the food and decoration done by the potential party catering service in previous parties, and whether catering service will supply decorations, linens, tables, chairs, etc. for your event and clarify with them what all your event needs and the cost for the supplies.

Good service with good food makes your event great so question the number of waiters and bartenders that would be provided by the caterer service and get a commitment from them. Also ask for the ratio of servers to the guests and if taxes and gratuities are included in the final bid. Ensure the catering service also take care of the leftovers.

Diamonds have the highest refraction index, and those used for jewels are very transparent. Diamonds from Indian deposits were known in ancient times; in the West the limited use of diamonds began in the late Middle Ages. Diamonds for jewelry are graded on the basis of colour from blue-white to yellow. Grading also is done on the basis of purity, which varies from perfectly clear, extremely pure stones to those with many impurities and flaws. Large demand provided an incentive for the production of false diamonds (as well as other stones) as early as 1675 in Paris.

Mogok rubies, from Myanmar (Burma), are the most highly prized because of their bright red colour (pigeon blood). Those from Thailand are usually a more brownish colour, while those from Sri Lanka tend toward violet. Production of synthetic stones is far greater than the supply of natural rubies. The physical and optical properties of synthetic and natural rubies are so similar that it is difficult to distinguish between them.

The sapphire (blue variety of corundum) is considered one of the most valuable of precious stones. A sapphire's colouring usually indicates its origin. Those from Myanmar are deep blue. The Kashmir (Indian) sapphire is cornflower blue and is highly prized, being quite rare. Sapphires from Thailand are very similar in colour to those from Myanmar; those from Sri Lanka are of different shades but incline toward violet. Sapphires, like rubies, can be cut so that, in the light, a beautiful, luminous six-pointed star appears on the surface of the gem. Star sapphires and rubies are semi-opalescent. Synthetic sapphires and rubies are produced by the same industries.

The green emerald is a precious stone used since very ancient times. There is documentation of its presence in Egypt during the life of Pharaoh Sesostris III in the 19th century BC. At the end of the 16th century, emeralds from South America were brought into Europe. On the American continent, the first peoples to use emeralds were those belonging to the pre-Columbian civilizations, in particular the Inca. In 1935 in the United States (Chatham) and in Germany (Farbenindustrie), synthetic emerald crystals were made with characteristics similar to natural ones.

Among the beryls, mention must be made of morganite (pink beryl) found in various shades of peach-blossom pink. The main deposits are in California and Madagascar.

The two best known and most widely used varieties of chrysoberyl are alexandrite (transparent) and Oriental cat's-eye (opaque). Because of its great power of absorption of certain colours, alexandrite looks green in daylight and reddish purple in artificial light. The cat's-eye is a yellowish green colour and is characterized by a luminous line. The intensity of the light in this line varies according to the brightness of the rays of light that strike it.

One of the most important gems with pure crystals is the topaz, used a great deal in jewelry. The honey-yellow variety is the best known, but there are also pink, red, blue, and the less-used colourless stones. The Oriental topaz (a corundum) and citrine quartz are also widely used. They are less rare than other kinds of topaz and, therefore, less expensive but create a similar effect.

Among the less-important and less-rare stones, the zircon is quite widely used in its three varieties: orange, blue, and colourless. The orange variety is called jacinth and was used to a great extent in classical antiquity. The blue variety is called starlite or Siam zircon, while the third type is called Ceylon or Matara diamond.

Among the semiprecious stones used in jewelry are amethyst, garnet, aquamarine, amber, jade, turquoise, opal, lapis lazuli, and malachite. Matrix jewelry is cut from a stone such as opal or turquoise and the surrounding natural material, or matrix.

The pearl is one of the oldest gems known. Its colour varies according to the waters from which it comes. Pearls from the Persian Gulf are usually cream-coloured; those from Australia are white with greenish or bluish shades; golden-brown pearls come from the Gulf of Panama; those from Mexico are black or reddish brown; pink pearls are from Sri Lanka; and those from Japan are cream-coloured or white with greenish tones. The main characteristic of the pearl is its iridescence. Baroque pearls are those with defects in their outer layer. In modern times baroque pearls are rounded off artificially but, in the 16th and 17th centuries, their irregular form was exploited in jewelry by using them to make up parts of animals or other figures. After huge quantities of cultivated pearls invaded the world market, interest in natural pearls underwent a considerable decrease.

In addition to pearl, a number of other organic materials, including amber, coral, ivory, and jet, are considered gems.

Amber is a fossil resin, usually yellowish brown, but on occasion deep brown to red, green, or blue. It is an amorphous hydrocarbon and may contain particles of various foreign materials, trapped insects, and air bubbles. Its lustre is greasy to resinous. The most noted occurrence of amber is along the shores of the Baltic Sea, where pieces have been washed up by wave action. Other important occurrences are along the coast of Sicily, in Romania, and in Myanmar near Myitkyinā.

Coral is the skeletal material of calcium carbonate built up by small animals that live in colonies in the sea. This material is usually branchlike and occurs in a variety of colours, of which the most sought after are rose red to red. The best coral comes from the Mediterranean Sea, particularly off the coasts of Algeria and Tunisia. A black horny coral growth, probably conchiolin, which hardens on exposure to air, has been obtained off the islands of Hawaii. Coral is carved into art objects and cut as beads, cameos, and other ornaments.

The use of ivory for ornamental purposes dates to prehistory. The term should be restricted to the material derived from the tusks of certain animals—namely, the elephant, hippopotamus, warthog, walrus, sperm whale, narwhal, and the extinct mammoth (fossil ivory). The pale cream colour of new ivory darkens with age to yellow. All types are brittle and will not peel as do the plastics used to simulate them.

Jet is a dense variety of lignite formed by the submersion of driftwood in the mud of the seafloor. It has been recovered since Roman times from the shales near Whitby in northeastern England. It takes a high polish and was once popular as mourning and ecclesiastical jewelry but has been superseded by black onyx, black tourmaline, and plastics. Because it is actually a variety of coal, it will burn.

Gem engraving, setting, and cutting

The most ancient technique of stone engraving, intaglio-incised carving, was probably first used to produce seals. The art is believed to have originated in southern Mesopotamia and was highly developed by the 4th millennium BC. During the Hellenistic Age (c. 323–30 BC) intaglio surface engraving gave rise to the idea of carving stones in relief, exploiting the different coloured layers of certain minerals to create contrasting figures (cameo): the background was cut down to the lower level, of a different colour or shade, in order to make the subject stand out chromatically. The stones that have properties suited for this purpose are sardonyx, agate, and onyx.

The cameo is usually one of the components for necklaces, bracelets, and rings or is included in medallions with a jeweled frame. The art of cameo in jewelry was most highly developed during three periods: the late republican to early imperial period in Rome, the Renaissance, and the Neoclassical period in the 18th century.

The evolution of techniques of setting has followed that of stonecutting. The insertion of gems in jewelry can be done in various ways. The setting can have a round, square, oval, or rectangular collet (rim); in periods in which gems were mounted in their own irregular shapes, the collet followed this form. Usually, on the inside of the collet a short distance from the edge, there is a protrusion on which the stone rests. The edge is pounded down around the gem to ensure its stability. In coronet settings the form may be conical or pyramidal, solid or pierced. The edge is first shaped into a row of teeth, which are later hammered down onto the gem in order to hold it in place. Until fairly recently, nearly all gems were mounted on a metal base; and transparent stones, according to their colour, were placed on a gold or silver base to increase the amount of light reflected. As new cuts were developed for stones, setting techniques also progressed, especially for those jewels in which important stones like diamonds, emeralds, and rubies form the main theme. The tendency was to leave the stones as visible as possible (especially in rivière necklaces and bracelets made only of diamonds) by mounting them with a very small ring of white gold or platinum fitted closely against the back of the stone. Three claws, attached to this ring, hold the stone in place.

Pearls, like some coloured stones, in ancient classical times were pierced with a drill, the hole going half or all the way through according to whether the pearls were to be strung on a necklace or fastened onto a jewel.

Until the 15th century, stones were only polished or the part to be left visible was rounded into a dome shape called cabochon. The cutting known as faceting gradually developed from the first attempts in the 15th century, probably in France and the Netherlands. During the 16th century the simple rose cut began to be used, after which there were no new developments until 1640, when, under the patronage of Jules Cardinal Mazarin, the first brilliant cut was carried out (also called the Mazarin cut). Toward the end of that century, a Venitian succeeded in obtaining the triple brilliant cut, which is still used. The numerous cuts used for diamonds today are usually applied to other precious and semiprecious transparent stones as well. For emeralds, rubies, and other coloured stones the square or rectangular cut with a stepped bulb or the cabochon cut are usually used.

Appropriate dressing as per your Age

Posted by Wealth Group | 4:18 AM | 0 comments »

We all have that women in our life that refuses to comply with the laws of stylish aging. You know the one-she wears high heels and shorts, or pink lipstick and teased hair, cleavage popping t-shirts or carries teeny bopper handbags. Or maybe she is at the opposite end of the spectrum, dressing too mature and years beyond her birth certificate. Long shorts, and dowdy Birkenstock sandals, you wonder if she's in the witness protection program. Why else would she be trying to disappear?

These are, of course, very extreme cases of Not Dressing Your Age. There are various levels of committing this offense, none of which you want to be counted guilty of. Fashion faux pas change as we mature, and following a few simple guidelines can keep us from aging ourselves. Remember- dressing too young may make you look older than you are. No one wants to see someone with crow's feet with butterfly clips in their hair. It only highlights that you have them.

This is not to say that once you hit the big 3-0 or 4-0 your fashion sense has to morph into that of your Mother's. We hope that the essence of your style can remain the same, with a few updates and accents to highlight your newly acquired maturity. After all, your style reflects YOU, and as you age, you should only become more of yourself. Fashion can be fun at any age, and as long as you have the voice of reason whispering in your ear, it can also help you present your best self to the world around you. Like it or not, people judge you most on your appearance, so let's give the best impression we can.

Here are just a few guidelines for dressing most appropriately for your age.

In your 20s

Your twenties are a time for defining your fashion sense. This is a decade where following many of the trends is most acceptable, since the fashion industry is directed mostly to your generation. Wear what you love, and if you feel great in it, take note. This could give you much insight that will guide you throughout your fashion timeline.

Animal prints, brightly colored tights, large headbands, flowing fabrics, tailored trousers, or polo shirts; experiment and find what you feel most comfortable in. Don't settle on sweats or unflattering fits that are unfeminine. This is not the time to fall into a pattern of being lazy.

What you are attracted to now will most likely be what you are drawn to in your 30s, so have fun and be open to new looks. What you get complimented most on is likely what is most flattering. Unless the compliment is from the pervert bum around the corner- In which case, assume you are showing too much cuteness and should discard item immediately.

Be subtly sexy. A little skin goes a long way. Being Young, Hip and Happening does not give you license to look like a prostitute. They come in all ages.

Don't become too taken with expensive trendy pieces. Splurge on items that will last you at least a few years- like a good pair of jeans, a great coat, and of course, a little black dress. As a rule, spend less on trendy items and fads, but don't rule them out all together. Every classic piece of clothing was at first a fad, so if you absolutely love it, buy it and wear it as long as you can. It may very well become your signature look!

In your 30s

Your trademark style should be fully evolved by your thirties, but if you're a late bloomer, take heart. There's still plenty of time to invent your fashion identity.

Everything is toned down a notch this decade. If you loved big, graphic designs in your 20s, in your 30s-wear the same patterns, but instead of wearing it in the form a dress, try it in a top under a cardigan, in a headband, or my favorite- pointy toed heels under wide legged pants. If you wore preppy chic pieces in your twenties, keep it up. Just add a few A-line skirts with your collared tops, and invest in some short sleeved sweaters that fit you fabulously. Don't button your tops to your neckline, and be sure to pick pieces fit to your body type.

No t-shirts please, and please stop wearing screen tees with large logos. If your style in your 20s was "prepubescent boy", then you're going to have to forget all about keeping your style.

The goal is not to look OLDER than you did ten years ago. It is to look more polished, more aware of yourself, more confident. If you can picture your nineteen year old niece wearing it, forget it. She doesn't have the confidence you have yet, or the wisdom and experience. Don't look like you don't, either.

Stop shopping in Junior Stores and the Teen section of department stores. Period. Unless you're shopping for aforementioned niece.

Don't rely on low cut tops and form fitted dresses this decade. Not that you should any decade, since it is very hard to take anyone seriously when you're so distracted by their body parts, but this is the decade to celebrate your subtle sexiness. You are young, but undoubtedly All Women. You have earned this title, so don't feel the need to prove that to anyone by shoving it in their faces. Bring out the pearls. The stilettos. The Audrey Hepburnish sheath dress you were afraid to rock in your twenties. Wear jeans and pants that are tailored, and tops that won't ride up when you bend over.

Speaking of jeans, invest in at least one pair that make you feel fabulous, your butt look perkier, and your legs longer. Sound like a tall order? It's not, I assure you, they exist! A good pair of jeans, preferably in a dark wash, can be worn with heels or ballerina flats and will take you just about anywhere looking incredibly stylish.

In your 40s

This is the greatest time in history to be in your 40s. Women are celebrated and admired at this age, and no longer regarded as approaching the golden years.

This is not the time to hang up your style and bring out the mom jeans! The styles you have always loved can be updated and freshened to reflect your new sense of self. The key to looking your best in your 40s is all about fit- tailor, tailor, tailor!

If you love black, by all means add it to your wardrobe-None can match it in sophistication. But if simple black bores you, jewel tones look great on practically every skin tone, and chocolate brown with cream is a lovely combo as well.

Wide legged trousers should be a staple in almost everyone's closet- If you have more hips than you did in your twenties, these are great at keeping that your secret. If you are on the thin side, they do a great job of giving you curves where you had none. Scarfs, tunics, and a new little black dress can do wonders for a fashion slump.

Things to avoid in your 40s- Lowrise jeans, anything too trendy, anything that resembles a mumu, and leggings.

Bottom line- when you are shopping, ask yourself- does this tell people that I am classy ,sophisticated, and put together? Or does it scream desperate, in denial, or too revealing? Trying to dress like your 20 and 30 year old counterparts will not make people think you are 20 or 30.

Don't wear any article of clothing you did 10 or 20 years ago, unless it is an amazing winter coat in amazing shape. You deserve some new clothes already, and while you're at it, get a chic new hairstyle and color that makes you feel amazing.

In closing, don't be a slave to fashion, and don't be a slave to your youth. Embrace your growth, and celebrate that you are still around to strut your stuff! Maturity does not equal ancient, so get rid of those hangups and start dressing appropriately for your age.

How to keep Jewelry safe while travelling?

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Is there anything quite as lovely as gold and diamond jewelery on sun-kissed skin? Vacations are a terrific time to show off your most extravagant jewels, how disappointing to have to leave them at home. You are happy and relaxed and the last thing you need to worry about is having your jewelery lost or stolen. You can take them with you. There are measures you can take to ensure that your precious baubles stay safe.

The following 10 tips will help avoid you and your jewels from parting ways.

1. Make sure they are insured under your home insurance policy and make sure that holidays are covered. There is a lot to be said about having peace of mind.

2. Take pictures before you leave and keep them in your carry-on or purse. That way if anything is lost or stolen you have pictures to give the police and hotel staff. Also, if anything shows up you have proof that it belongs to you.

3. Don't waste your money buying "camouflage" jewelery boxes like hollowed out books or make-up bottles. They really don't fool anyone and thieves know to look through these.

4. Ensure that your jewelery is in good repair before you leave. Take it to a jeweler and have him make sure all clasps are secure, your gold chains have no weak spots and the settings on your rings are good and strong. You might be a bit more athletic on your holidays and you would be heartbroken if one of your pieces fell off and was lost.

5. Don't bring pieces you likely won't wear. The more jewelery you bring, the greater your chances of losing or having a piece stolen. A good bet is to have a nice "day jewelery" set and a nice "evening jewelery" set.

6. Stay at hotels that offer vault services for your more expensive pieces. There may be a small charge for this but its well worth it.

7. Pack all jewelery in your travel-on bag or your purse. Checked luggage is notorious for going missing. Even though most luggage comes back to you eventually, you don't need to spend the first two days of your holiday in a panic worrying about your jewels.

8. Never leave your jewelery in a shoe or under your towel while you hit the surf. Remember that if you thought of hiding it there, a thief thought of looking there. Leave them in the hotel room or in the hotel vault if you are not comfortable wearing them in the ocean.

9. If buying jewelery while on holiday make sure that if you take off any of your pieces off to try on new stuff, that you hand them to a friend to hold for you. Don't leave them on the counter. Vacation spots are a haven for pickpockets just looking for an opportunity and unguarded jewelery is easy pickings.

10. Take an inventory before you leave. Make sure all of your jewelery is accounted for before leaving your hotel. It's a lot easier to look under the bed while still in the hotel than having to call two days later when you notice it's missing.

Follow these ten tips for safeguarding your expensive jewelery and you will have a terrific, worry free holiday, and when both you and your jewels are safely home your friends will all be awed by the photos of your pretty sun-kissed skin set off by your beautiful jewelery.

Pearls and their Care

PRECIOUS PEARLS

Nothing shows off a lovely lady's smile like a glistening strand of pearls. These natural wonders are also popular for earrings, bracelets, brooches and more.

From a bride's best adornment to an everyday accent, pearls are a special staple in many women's wardrobes. After all, a pretty set of pearls can go with nearly any outfit!

WHAT ARE PEARLS?

Pearls are organic compounds, unlike gemstones, such as diamonds, emeralds and rubies. Genuine pearls are produced inside oysters. Basically, a grain of sand becomes trapped inside the oyster shell, and layers of nacre form around it. Eventually, a precious pearl is created.

This treasured item, valued for its purity and shimmer, has long been popular for jewelry and other adornments.

Today, cultured pearls are made by planting seeds inside oyster shells to facilitate the process. Also, many simulated pearls (some made from mother-of-pearl) and man-made imitations are also available.

The following instructions pertain to genuine and cultured pearls. Imitation pearls may require separate steps, as their durability may be somewhat questionable.

PRESERVE YOUR PEARLS!

First and foremost, pearls are meant to be worn. In fact, as long as you wear them gently, your pearls will actually retain their lovely luster much longer, if you wear them. They can become dull with long-term storage in a dark box.

Avoid wearing your pearls to bed. Give your precious pearls a rest while you are sleeping.

Also, do not wear a pearl necklace with metallic chains or other neckwear. Such items can easily become entangled, damaging your pearls or breaking the strand.

Do not put on your pearls before applying antiperspirants, cosmetics, creams, fragrances, hairsprays or lotions. It's better to clip on your pearls as a finishing touch!

If you wear your pearls while you eat, make every effort to prevent your pearls from coming in contact with foods, beverages, or condiments. acidic foods, in particular, can harm the luster of your pearls.

Wipe your pearls gently with a soft cloth before storing them. If pearls are dusty or linty, dampen the cloth first. Be sure pearls are fully dried before stowing them!

Store your pearls in a soft cloth sack or lined box, apart from other accessories. Chamois, flannel, velvet, or velveteen are excellent choices. Pearls can scratch easily, so you need to protect them.

Remove your pearls for bathing, swimming, lounging in a sauna, stepping into a whirlpool, undergoing beauty treatments or when entering other areas where water or chemicals may harm them.

Have your pearl necklaces restrung, if beads begin to separate. Generally, pearls may be strung on sturdy materials, such as fishing line or dental floss, with a knot placed after each bead. If you're not sure, ask a jeweler to inspect the condition of the string. Professional restringing is the best bet.

RESTORE SOILED PEARLS

You can clean your pearls with warm soapy water. Dry them gently, but thoroughly, with a soft cloth. Lay them flat on a clean (light-colored) towel to dry. Flip the strand over periodically while drying.

If your pearls are stained or soiled, you may need to consult a professional jeweler to restore them to their original beauty.

If you take excellent care of your prized pearls, you will enjoy them for a lifetime. Your lovely pearls will serve you well forever.

Beneath the Diamond Industry!

The price of a diamond.

If you ask an average person on the street about the price of a diamond, the guess would probably be a couple of thousand dollars. Some may call that expensive, some may call that cheap, and some may call it a lie. In some cases, those last would be right. The trade of conflict diamonds is not a couple of thousand dollars, it is so much more. It is the life of a child, of abuse, separation and torture.

Why is it that the media has the time to inform the public about the daily lives of celebrities, the new best sellers, the weather and the rotting economy of certain countries, but they forget to raise awareness of issues that are so crucial, yet so dark that they are left invisible to many? Conflict diamonds, although many are unaware, are a component of international trade. Despite their illegitimacy they still find their way into the world where demand for diamonds, the greed for aesthetic beauty, is greater than the interest of whether the diamond you are presenting to the world is clean, something that comes from an individual's humanity.

Look into the eyes of the child who works in mines. Look into his huge eyes, tortured by darkness and hard labor, and ask yourself, is this really the symbol of everlasting love, diamonds? Blood diamonds are not beautiful. They are not pure, clean or impeccable. They are dirty, covered by blood, and they represent hundreds of thousands of deaths, death of children as young as the age of five, separated from their families, with nothing to comfort themselves with, with no one to save them, working hours a day with no rights or education, for the benefit of hooligans, wars and weapons. If adults really are who they claim to be, the protectors of children, the ones who hold responsibility for their lives, then how do you explain your reckless ambition to fight, kill and torture? Those wars are not funded by governments only; they are also funded by the trade of conflict diamonds and the lives of the children who dig for them. But why are so many unaware of that?

Over 50 countries exploit the rights of young children by sending them into hazardous mines of minerals, and in the Sahel region of Africa alone, this exploitation takes over 1/3 of the total industry workforce. Countries such as Sierra Leone and Nigel take part in this deathly sin and elicit trade, and although "The Kimberley Process" has attempted to decrease the number of blood diamonds entering the legitimate diamond supply chain, only 18% of retailers have a policy to ensure that their diamonds are compliant with the Kimberley Process, according to a survey conducted in 2006 by Amnesty International. Some estimates say that up to 30% of the rough output of some diamond mines is smuggled out illegally, and although many may call that a significant progress compared to the original numbers, in terms of lives, those numbers are huge. So what does it take to bring those percents down to null? What does it take to ensure that every 5 year old has the opportunity to learn the definition of "childhood" and lead a healthy lifestyle? What does it take to ensure that the jewelry on our hands, fingers and necks doesn't carry the weight of a human life and exploitation? What does it take to destroy the callous cruelty that comes with ambition and desire?

"War is the price of peace" some say, but are we really content with such a statement? Don't you want to challenge it, prove it wrong, and refuse to believe it? The problem with the world is that people have forgotten what it is like to fight for a cause; they have forgotten that there are things that are worth the bruises and cuts, and the lives of children are one of them. The illegal trade of diamonds must be stopped. The apparition of one more blood diamond in the world signifies the sufferings of a human being, and can we really close our eyes on that?

Diamonds are forever, but lives are not. Stop the mutilation, become aware of things that matter, and make sure that your diamond has not originated from the sweat of the child with the huge eyes, imprisoned in the perpetual darkness of a mine.

Gold Wedding Bands Shopping Guide

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

Gold wedding bands are a significant part of any marriage ceremony. Bride and groom come together during this special occasion to celebrate the ultimate commitment between two people. For grooms, gold wedding bands symbolize their part in this desired obligation. Men's gold wedding bands have become big business, catering to the two million plus marriages performed yearly in the U.S. As men's gold band ring design advances, with the rapid advancement of online retailers, consumers find themselves with a greater selection of gold wedding bands, ranging in color, style, fit and design. With all these gold wedding bands, consumers should consider a few important points before buying a gold band online, as detailed in this shopping guide.

The most important factor in selecting a gold wedding band is personal taste. There are so many styles of gold wedding bands available including Celtic bands, two tone bands, flat top bands, milgrain bands and, of course, polished plain gold wedding bands. These categories can be broken down further into a myriad of styles and designs. The question then becomes, what captures your eye? Do you prefer fancy cut gold bands with faceted edges and patterns, or perhaps handmade wedding bands which represent a certain detailed quality and uniqueness? You can also buy gold wedding bands fitted with diamonds. Men's diamond wedding bands combine the sleekness of gold with the excitement of sparkling diamonds.

In general, white gold wedding bands are more popular than yellow gold wedding bands. In particular, comfort fit plain white gold wedding bands are the standard. Simple and elegant, plain comfort fit gold wedding bands are more traditional in nature. As done by many a groom, you might consider engraving your band to reflect the name of your bride or some memorable message. The variety of styles and designs are a great comfort to those who are looking to find that uniquely representative gold wedding band. Once you have established the desired look, you can then move on to verifying the security of the online retailer you are potential buying from.

There are several points of verification you can look for in establishing that a site selling gold wedding bands is reputable. First, look for a current secure socket layer (SSL) certificate, as issued by a Certified Authority such as Godaddy, Verisign, etc. This means the site you are buying from is trusted, and the information being transferred from you to the site is encrypted and secure from third party attacks. Secondly, look for membership in a reviewable consumer group such as the Better Business Bureau. Look here for complaints and disputes from previous customers. Thirdly, study the warranty for gold wedding bands. What is the exchange/refund period? Is there an extended warranty available? Most reputable sites will give you at least 30 days to return your gold wedding bands. Carefully study the conditions under which returns are accepted, looking for anything unusual, like sky high restocking fees, as compared to other sites. Finally, study the customer reviews and testimonials from others who have bought gold wedding bands from the same online retailer. A great test of an online retailer is simply to call their customer service line. Are their representatives professional and willing to answer your questions? Compare your findings with other sites, selling similar gold wedding bands and you should be able to pin down which online retailers are secure, authentic and ethical.

Price is the final factor in considering the purchase of gold wedding bands. Study competitive retailers of men's gold wedding bands by searching terms like white gold wedding bands, diamond gold wedding bands and Celtic wedding bands. Look at the weight of the gold bands and compare prices with other sites. Reputable resellers of gold wedding bands such as PerryO often have a variety of gold bands covering various prices ranges and willing display detailed information about each item. Are there amenities included in the purchase, such as gift boxes, and expedited shipping? Diamond wedding bands may be the most difficult to price. Diamonds require judgment in several areas including cut, clarity and color and carat referred to as the four C's. Research the four C's, educating your self to identify quality diamond gold wedding bands. Once you are done you can feel comfortable making a purchase as this process will ensure that you have found a reputable source for all of your gold wedding bands.

Sneaky Ways to Find Her Ring Size

Posted by Wealth Group | 4:18 AM | 0 comments »

A great deal of thought goes into the preparations required to make your proposal unique, memorable and error-free. In most cases, months are spent selecting the engagement ring, coordinating the exact place and time of the proposal, and rehearsing the words that come closest to expressing what the heart feels on the day the question is finally asked.  And just like the glass slipper in Cinderella, the ring must fit to confirm that you are indeed the handsome prince she has been waiting for.

Finding the ring size of your bride-to-be without making your intention to propose obvious can require imagination, ingenuity and a stroke of luck. Having a ring she currently wears on her ring finger can ease the burden, but most women keep their ring finger sacred and free of jewelry that would provide an exact ring size. To help, we provide the following list which contains a few sneaky ways to figure out what the size of her ring finger is.

Trust In Friends To Help

Most of those close to you and your bride-to-be are more than happy to help you on your quest to find her ring size. Think about her best friends, coworkers, and even her mom to get the ring size information. This can easily be done if they allow her to try on their rings, go window shopping for jewelry, or have them simply ask.

Covertly Capture the Ring's Size

If you are fortunate enough to have a bride-to-be that enjoys jewelry, then make it a point to "borrow" a ring-finger ring once it is removed. In some cases, the wearer won't notice that the ring is missing if it's only gone for a few hours while you're having the jeweler obtain its size. However, if the ring-finger jewelry is only removed for brief periods (such as while showering), a model or imprint will have to do. To capture the ring's size, simply trace the inner circle of the ring on a piece of paper or make an imprint of the ring in a soft material such as soap, clay or bread and return the ring to its former location. In this way, a measurement can be made without the physical ring being present.

Use Paper or a String to Guess the Ring

If your bride-to-be is a heavy sleeper, then it may be possible to wrap a thin strip of paper around her finger and mark where the paper overlaps itself. This method will provide a fairly accurate ring size. A twist could also be to tie a string to her finger to make sure she does forget something you deem important. Insist on having the string tied to the ring-finger, and when it is removed pocket the string. This is crafty and works best on a very unsuspecting bride-to-be.

Bring It Up in Group Conversation

If all else fails, then simply comment (or have your friend comment) on a ring that belongs to someone else. This may get the ring size conversation going in your direction. Fabricate as necessary by talking about the similarities of the ring in question with your (mother's / grandmother's/ sister's) ring; ask what size it is and if you can see it; allow your bride-to-be to try it on; comment on the stones; anything to get the ring conversation going. You don't have to get the exact size now; you can subtly revisit and finish the discussion at a later time when the two of you are alone.

Both you and your bride-to-be deserve perfection from start to finish, and hopefully, these tips will help you to make sure the engagement ring is sized perfectly. By taking the time to secure the right ring size you open up more options on your ring selection and ensure that she is showing off her engagement ring immediately following the proposal. The time spent finding out the right ring size is sure to pay off big dividends on your proposal day.

There are three elements Design, Quality, and Cost which are key factors considered by every Jewellery lovers at the time of Jewellery shopping. Their decision is inspired by the proper proportion of all three things. Design is the first thing which is first impression for buyers as well as spectators, then quality which defines the durability and purity of materials used in making a particular jewellery products and cost which is the decision factor for most of the people.

The Design Element

Design of popular jewellery product is never fixed, because it is inspired by a much volatile word, "Fashion", which itself changes trend every day. But Jewellery designers understand the need of various set of jewellery lovers. They design exclusive products to cater demand of every group. There are certain products like Diamond Engagement Ring and Diamond Wedding Ring which are the most important and popularly designed jewellery products. People always prefer to buy a designer diamond ring only, and they don't hesitate in paying extra money for that.

The Quality Factor

Quality is the most important decision factor while buying jewellery. Buyers will never compromise with the quality, because they are paying hefty sum of money. Choosing a lower quality product, just because of low price is never a choice of public. That's why manufacturers take care of quality concepts. They try to use the best possible materials and certified diamonds with their jewellery products. For peace of customers mind, most reputed jewellery manufacturers have started hallmarking of their jewellery products, and they provide a quality certificate with hallmark of authorized agencies, as well as a certificate for diamond describing its origin and history till date.

The Cost Element

Well, jewellery is always among costliest products in fashion. But fashion conscious people or jewellery lovers never care for cost if they are getting what they want in terms of design and quality. But if same design and quality jewellery is available at lower prices when why way more money. Jewellery manufacturers are trying to make the cost of jewellery products lower by reducing several third party costs incurred in the way between manufacturer and actual consumer.

Selling Jewellery online via Online Jewellery Stores is an intelligent example, because it removes the property cost as well as reduces the manpower cost, resulting low set price for jewellery products. This is the reason behind introduction of so many jewellery shopping websites on Internet.

There is not much point in choosing your partners diamond wedding ring unless it is able to complement the engagement ring she has. Although you want the ring to look good with the engagement ring, you do not want it to overshadow it; it is worthwhile trying out a number of rings to see which one suits the engagement ring most. The circular shape of your wedding ring is a symbol of eternity and the lasting commitment that two people make to be with each other. Many customs actually view the giving of the wedding ring as the last in a number of gifts given to each partner.

This aging custom has been given a facelift over recent years by the giving of an 'eternity' ring which is designed to show the partner their lasting commitment to the marriage. It is now becoming more popular to have wedding rings engraved so if you and your partner are buying matching diamond wedding rings, why not have them both engraved; something unique to the couple which will also the rings a more individual feel. Often plain rings just don't suit the personality of the owners so if this is the case why not have both you and your partner's wedding rings given a unique style by having the edges engraved; personality is just as important as style so choose rings that try to reflect both. Fortunately, whatever type of romantic wedding ring you choose will be right as long as you both agree on the style.

Throughout your marriage do not forget the importance of your wedding ring; it should be treated with respect as it probably won't leave your finger very often. It is not worth trying to find the cheapest you can because it will undermine their importance. Should you purchase a diamond wedding ring based solely on the fact that it is being sold for a low price, you may find that over time, your ring begins to lose its luster. Assuming that you are spending a healthy sum of money it is important you ensure they fit correctly when they are placed on your fingers on the wedding day.

An important point not to overlook is having the ring finger professionally measured at the time of choosing your diamond wedding rings. This might be considered a fine art, making sure that both are neither too tight nor too loose. Adjustments aren't usually done 'over the counter' so allow plenty of time for your rings to be adjusted before the wedding day. Be sure that you go looking a few months before your wedding day so the rings will be ready for your big day; allow at least a couple of months for them to be adjusted.

You also need to allow time because to choose because the variety of designs and styles is huge. When you are both deciding on what diamond wedding rings to buy, base your choice on the style you are both immediately attracted too; whilst remembering that what looks good today might not be quite as fashionable in a few years time. The most important thing to remember is that your wedding rings are symbolic of your everlasting love.

Engagement Ring Stories

Posted by Wealth Group | 12:18 PM | 0 comments »

The problem is the ring he got me. It just isn't what I had pictured when I imagined what my ring would look like when someone asked to marry me. And I don't think anyone in their right mind would want what I have as far as a ring goes. I won't go into details about the ring itself but basically it's as though he didn't put much thought into what I wanted, even though I told him a few specific things that I would just not live without, and he went ahead did as he pleased. He told me that he would get me a new one when he got back into the states during this mid-tour leave (he is currently deployed in Iraq). Now he tells me he won't. Am I out of line? Would you be happy with a ring from Wal-Mart worth $90? I have made it perfectly clear that I really do appreciate what the ring symbolizes and that I love him regardless.

There are a lot of girls who would love even a piece of tin foil if it symbolized their fiance's love. Do you think that maybe he was rushed because he wanted you to have a ring before he left for Iraq? Do you think that offending his choice could be the reason that he changed his mind about getting you another one? Do you also think that as far away as he is that the last thing he wants to get from you is a letter further insulting his choice? You say you made it clear that you "appreciate what the ring symbolizes", but do you really? To end on a positive note, perhaps once things have cooled off you will see your ring in a new light, or at least you can find another way to explain your feelings about the ring which don't offend or insult. Or, you will realize that a ring is not the end all of a marriage.

Not all men look at rings for what they are worth, or how big they could be. Maybe he thought you wouldn't care. Maybe he thought that since he was going to be spending the rest of his life with you, that no matter what ring he bought you, you would love it, just as much as you love him. Do you honestly know what that word means? If you are letting something as simple as your engagement ring ruffle your feathers.

My friend's husband just went to basic training, she gets to talk to him 10 minutes a week. She waits by that phone until it rings to hear his voice because she misses him so much. And here you are arguing with him over the phone about your ring when he is that far away?

Yes,I would be VERY happy with a $90 ring from Wal-mart. My e-ring cost $115 from Kay's, and I love every single last bit of it, and my FH loves me even more knowing so.

This may be a really lame question but I got to thinking. When you have a wedding ring or engagement ring do you wear it ALL the time? What about in the shower, doing dishes or doing yard work? I don't have a ring yet, but I'm already nervous about losing it or damaging it. I guess thats what insurance is for, but it still wouldnt be fun to have to go through the pain of losing a ring you love.

I never take mine off. I was in the hospital for 4 weeks and had to have some surgery and they had to tape my ring to my finger cause I would not take it off. I wear gloves when I do the dishes but with my luck if I took it off I would lose it.

I just take off my ring when I take a shower or when I am doing something messy like washing dishes because junk gets built up on your ring. But that it!

I wear it all the time except for when I shower. I get it cleaned once a month though. Plus I clean it myself everyday after I shower. My ring gets loose in the winter when the weather is cold, but it never slips past my knuckle. It spins a lot, but doesn't come off. If your scared it might fall off, they have these new plastic, flexible wraps that you can put around the bottom of your ring, kind of like a rubber grip to stop it from coming off. Then at least you don't have to have it sized. Make sure whoever your FH buys your ring from, sizes it right. It should feel a little tight going over your knuckle and should not be easy to come off. You should have to push your ring up to go over your knuckle.

I take it off before bed & put it back on after I take my shower in the morning. I forgot to put it on today because I was rushing out of the house this morning, and that's happened a few times since I got the ring. I also take it off if I'm cooking something that I have to stick my hands into. Also, if I'm not leaving the house (and therefore, putting myself together, etc.,) I may not even wear it.

It's a personal choice. For me, I'm clumsy and if I slept with it I'd probably be all scratched up by now. For that reason, too, I don't really want to wear it all the time. It's an heirloom and I know my Mom chipped the stone a little & I don't want to do that - or knock it out! Also, I don't want to have to have it professionally cleaned very often because, personally, I think it's a frivolous expense.

When I have a wedding band, I will probably just leave it on all the time and may not wear the e-ring on an everyday basis. They won't be soldered together so that I have the flexibility to wear what I want when I want to.

The wedding ring goes closest to the heart. In other words, put on the wedding ring first, then the engagements ring. In ancient times, it was believed that there was a vein that went directly from your ring finger on the left hand to the heart. That's where the symbolism of wearing the wedding ring on that finger started.

The terms "synthetic" and "simulated" are confused in the minds of most folks. Synthetic means a REAL diamond material but manmade. Simulated means, a material that looks pretty much like a diamond but is made from something else. A "synthetic" diamond is actually diamond but is manmade in the deep secrets of the laboratory. The "simulated" diamond is a CZ, a Moissanite or other simuilant. So far to date, the Moissanite is the best, even if color might be a bit off.

MOISSANITE

Moissanite is a very durable stimulant for diamonds. The only drawback is the particular stone, since some may show a greenish tint. I suggest you ask to see more than one stone and compare the color for the whitest (least colored) Moissanite.

Moissanite is a diamond like clear form of a substance you are likely familiar with: Silicon Carbide. Think of wet/dry sandpaper. That is silicon carbide, a very hard and durable material. When science was able to consistently manufacture clear crystals of silicon carbide, the gemstone "Moissanite" was born, named after the original discoverer from many years ago and before marketable crystals were producible.

This material is harder than most gemstones, not bothered by the heat used in jewelry work (meaning if prongs holding the stone need work in the future, the stone may be left in place for the work to be done). The stone is bright, durable, and wonderful to the eye. The only distraction is the "sometimes" slightly off-color. That is why I suggest asking a jeweler to have more than one stone for you to select from. Do this with uncounted stones.

Remember, carat is a weight and not a dimension! Moissanite and diamond do not weight the same and a carat of one is not the same size as a carat of the other. Simply ask for a "diamond carat size" when getting the stones to view. Most jewelers will do this automatically since they understand the size the customer wants is relative to the sizes of diamonds.

Believe a good look at some loose stones and a mounting selected and they you will be on your way, happy with the stone. These stones beat CZ is all aspects except the sometimes "tint" of color. CZ must be perfectly clean to really look diamond-like but the high refraction and characteristics of Moissanite keep it looking diamond like even when soiled somewhat.

Still, make an effort to keep all gemstones clean! All looks better that way and regular cleaning is the best way to check for wear and loose stones. Many jewelers will clean your item for free. Most should do that, I believe.

Moissanite is an excellent choice. But...be sure to see the stone first and pick the whitest (most color free) stone.

METALS

Platinum is an excellent choice for a ring but keep in mind that platinum will not keep a shine like white gold will. Platinum is durable, hypoallergenic, holds stones well and all that. Platinum is much more expensive than gold. Still, expect platinum do develop a dullish look after wearing a while.

The other metal might be Palladium, another metal in the platinum family. Do not get this. Palladium is a decent metal but many jewelers cannot work it properly and very, very little choice is on the market in palladium. We have NO palladium rings in our business. Palladium is mostly used to add to gold to make a form of white gold. Now, a white gold made with palladium is an excellent metal choice. You will have to go to a knowledgeable jeweler to find someone who knows the difference.

This is what I mean: White gold is made by taking pure gold which is yellow, adding other metals to make it a "karat" gold, like 14k or 18k. (Pure is 24k and too soft for jewelry.) Sometimes metals are added to change the color of the karat gold. For instance, more copper makes rose gold. More nickel makes white gold.

In recent years, more manufacturers are using palladium instead of nickel since some people are allergic to nickel or have sensitivity to the metal. Those people cannot wear white gold made white with nickel. So, we have palladium white gold which is a slightly different white than nickel white gold but looks great and has no skin sensitivity problems. Some newer nickel metal mixes of gold meet higher standards and have no "sensitivity" issues either.

I suggest asking for white gold (if platinum is out of the budget) and finding out if it is palladium white or nickel white. Ask if the nickel white meets the new "European standards" and is hypoallergenic. If the lady is used to white gold and has no problems with, regular nickel white gold should work fine. Just keep it out of anything with chlorine, like swimming pools, bleaches, hot tubs, etc. Chlorine works real danger on white gold made with nickel.

Sprucing Up an Older Bridal Set

Posted by Wealth Group | 4:18 AM | 0 comments »

Let's get right to it on sizing first. Prices will vary from location to location but in our area we generally size a ring down for $23. To size up starts at $28 and there is $10 added for each size after the first size. Keep in mind, the width of the rings will affect the price somewhat. The difference will not break the bank but be prepared for a higher charge for a wide ring band.

What to ask the jeweler or how to be prepared when going to the store? Ok, I will offer a few suggestions which might help you here. First of all, have fingers measured and get an estimate of the price to resize the rings. Then, ask if the jeweler thinks any stones might be loosened in the sizing process and what the charge might be to retighten the stones. This part is important! I have not seen your rings but depending on the resizing needed and the method by which the stones are set, loosening is possible in sizing down. When rings are sized up, loosening of stones can happen but is generally not the case. Since yours need to go up, loosening is likely not to happen but ask anyway.

When done well, the cleaning, polishing, etc. is simply part of the resizing process. You don't really need to ask anything about that. Still, you might ask if the sizing "will show", a common question from many repair and sizing customers who have not used us before.

Altering the rings you have to white and not having the stones put into new white settings means one approach: Rhodium plating. To rhodium plate is a fairly straight forward procedure but you might ask for a heavy plate, heavier than usually done for white gold rings. Since these are yellow and the life of the plating will depend on the thickness of the plate, ask for a double plating or simply that the rings be given a heavy plate. This means keeping the rings in the plating solution longer than usual or doing the job twice. Generally, to refinish and rhodium plate a ring will run about $40 in our area. If we size the rings, the finishing is done already and we would likely rhodium plate for about $25 to $30.

Please keep in mind that even the very hard and inert rhodium will wear off in time. How long will the white color last? That depends on wear and what is encountered in everyday life. If you laid bricks the life span would be much, much less than if you do "white collar" work and perhaps somewhere in between if a homemaker. : ) Give it at least 6 months for a basic plate and longer when your hands are not constantly repeating the same things with the same contact to the rings each day.

Yes, a good jeweler is the first requisite. Look for a reputable business with an "in-house" jeweler (on the premises). If you are really concerned or have a "gentle nudge" from somewhere inside that the conversations at the store are not totally right, ask if you can see a ring they have resized. This is not too much to ask but might surprise a sales person! Look at the ring and see if the work looks like no work was done at all. That is how it should look, with no sanding marks inside the ring and no obvious places where the ring was soldered. All should be finished well, both the bottom and the top of the ring.

Just a side note: Yes, be certain the store has a bench jeweler (like me, the one who actually does the work) in the store. Today, two ladies came in and wanted an engagement ring refinished to like new look for the wedding. We asked where the ring came from and why they did not use that store to do the work, perhaps for no charge while we needed to charge for the work. They said, "They don't seem to know what they are doing." Turns out, the ring came from a large and reputable department store. The jewelry sold there is just fine. But, the rings are sent out to some local person for all the sizing work. This ring was platinum and the work was, well, in a nice way the work was simply terrible! Either the "trade shop" jeweler didn't know how to work platinum or simply worked "volumes of jobs" with little concern for the final finish! We told them the refinishing work would have to include redoing the sizing...simply because the sizing place on the ring stood out and was discolored, with pits and holes in that area. We could not refinish peoperly without doing the sizing over! The inside of the ring looked like a rough file was the last finishing step. This was atrocious work. The ladies did not know the difference and many customers do not know that either.

The department store is a good one and the jewelry department sells good items but the "farmed out work" was bad. So, look for a reputable store with the jeweler in the store. This keeps all responsibility for the work in one location.

Caring for Flowers Tips

Posted by Wealth Group | 8:18 PM | 0 comments »

Flowers, whether fresh flowers or silk flower are lovely, beautiful and symbolic. Nothing can be effective as flowers to convey an emotional message, each and every flower represents one or the other emotion. But the biggest complaint of many fresh flower lovers is that their fresh floral bouquet and flower arrangements bearing exquisite floral design just don't seem to last very long.

What many flower lovers don't know is that there a few things you can do to insure that your floral arrangement, flower bouquet or even wedding flowers and wedding flower bouquet enjoy a long and beautiful life. With proper flower care, you can help the flowers retain their fresh looks for a long time.

Make certain that your water and vase for the floral arrangement are clean before use. It is advised that you clean your vases using hydrogen peroxide. The vase should also be in proportion to the size and amount of flowers you will be using for the flower arrangement.

Once the stems of flowers have been cut, you have removed their life support system, so the flowers should be placed in the container with water as soon as possible. You should use lukewarm water in your vase because lukewarm water has lower oxygen levels that will help the stem to intake water and will in turn prompt the flowers to open faster. There is also a need to use a flower preservative or floral food in the water because it helps develop the buds to open and it could kill harmful bugs and dirt.

The stems of the flowers should be cut at an angle under water to expose fresh flower stem. Cutting them at an angle will give them more surface area to absorb nutrients through. Cutting the stems under water is important because it prevents air from getting into the veins in the stem of the flower, an air bubble in the stem would prevent the flower from getting water and nutrients.

Make certain that only the flower's stem is under water. Do not allow leaves to be under the water level since that could cause them to rot. Also, never overcrowd the flowers; you should allow enough air to circulate between each flower.

You should remember to never place flowers in bright or overheated areas in your home. Strong heat and sunlight can cause an excess water loss and breed bacteria. You should also remove the dead leaves immediately, as they will breed bacteria, which will damage your flower. Always replace the water in the container after 2-3 days and always remember to re-cut the stem of the flowers underwater.

The next time you buy flowers for your home in your local flower shop or online flower delivery services or receive flowers from someone, always take a couple of minutes a day to care for them to easily double or even triple the life of your flowers. You can also visit the florist in your area and local flower shops so that you'll be provided will additional information on how to care for the specific flower type.

Jewellery to Please Women

Posted by Wealth Group | 4:18 AM | 0 comments »

Women Psychology

It's really tough for people to please or impress a woman. Because, no one can really get into women's heart and mind, no one can predict her nature, likes-dislikes and thinking. Therefore it becomes tough and tricky for men to please women whom they admire. They spend lot of time in thinking for a perfect gift which will be capable enough to please the women they love, or planning for something really rare and special for them.

Universal Likings

One thing which is universal truth about women is their desire for more and more jewellery. This is true for woman of all ages. You will not come across a single woman in your life who does not like wearing jewellery. So, a jewellery gift is the best and most suitable option to please a woman in any kind of situation. No matter who is the woman in context, you can please every woman in your life with a perfect jewellery gift specially designed or meant for them. That woman can be your spouse, your girlfriend, sister, or friend. You just need to assess your level of closeness with them and choose your gift accordingly.

Different Jewellery Gifts for Different Women

For Girlfriend - For your girlfriend a Diamond Ring will be the best gift, which may act as engagement ring for your engagement ceremony. A Diamond ring is always women's favorite, so no doubt your girlfriend will be flattered by this gift, and will admire you and your gift forever.

Jewellery for Mom - When you think of a gift for your mom, it should be something precious and memorable for her as well as capable of showing all your heartiest love, respect and honor for her. A platinum necklace with a diamond pendant will be an unbeatable option. Believe me, the happiness and pleasure that your mom will experience after getting your gift will be deep enough to shed few drop of tears, depicting her happiness as well as affection for you.

Jewellery for Sister - If you are planning a gift for your sister on occasion of her graduation, birthday or just to remind her how important she is for you. Then the choices may differ according to occasion. If the occasion is completion of her graduation of high school, you can present her a designer wrist watch. She'll keep your gift with her forever, and it'll be a treasured memorabilia for her. If the occasion is her birthday, you can present her a set of Diamond Ear Rings with a lovely birthday note. No doubt, she will be surprised and the moment will become one of the happiest moment of her life.

Jewellery for Friend - If you think of a gift for your friend on occasion of Christmas, New Year, her birthday or anniversary, a bracelet (silver, gold or platinum) engraved with name of your friend or messages like Best Friends, Friends Forever or anything similar will be the best gift option.

In brief, there is nothing more relevant than jewellery to gift a woman in your life. You can impress her and force her to admire your gifting choice. You'll also gain her confidence and trust in relation as added benefits.

Spring Wedding Theme

Posted by Wealth Group | 8:18 PM | 0 comments »

Spring… an unforgettable moment, a season for new beginnings, the time of the year where flowers start to blossom and spread in the wild- who would ever think that this time of the year is also one of the best times to celebrate your wedding day?

Spring weddings are becoming popular in the matrimony world. More and more couples are opting to make use of the spring season to tie their knot and vow in front of the altar to be with their partners for the rest of their lives.

In preparing for the venue, a spring wedding should always incorporate the theme of nature. It is during this season that nature starts to regain its beauty and to stick with the theme, nature elements, wildflowers, and many other natural objects should be included in the top of the list. The motif should also be in line with the theme, couples may choose from pastel colors more preferably those with greener and brighter shades.

As to the wardrobe, the design of the gown should incorporate floral patterns. The same goes to the men, whose outfits may also include flower boutonnieres to add more spring effect. The bouquet of the bride and the bridesmaid should also be made of beautiful wildflowers in full bloom like daffodils, lilacs, tulips and several other flowers which would make the women look like goddesses of nature. Hairs should not be so tight; if possible, it should be free and flowing. Flowers can be placed as hair ornaments, too.

The guests would be more enticed with the effect of small butterflies flying freely in the area. With this, the effect becomes more magical and fairytale like, making the whole venue look like a dream paradise for a wedding.

Foods to be served in the reception need not be as formal. Appetizers should be fresh, in line with the theme. You may opt to serve cocktails, fresh fruits, berries, salads and the like. The wedding cake should never be neglected- it should look like a fountain of fresh floral ornaments which resembles the nature and its elements. It should be well prepared as it is one of the features which audience's look forward to.

To make the ambience more soothing, pay instrumental music and less of the orchestra genre. It should make the guests feel refreshed and cool. The souvenirs should also be in theme such as small flower pots with seeds, ribboned with dedications and instructions on how to grow these seeds into blossoming flowers.

Making your spring wedding as memorable as possible depends upon your imagination. Make the most out of your resources for this experience only comes once in your lifetime. Good luck on you planning!

hosting an event and need to find a Melbourne catering company?

Peter Hayton offers his Top 10 tips to help you find a caterer or catering company in Melbourne that will meet your expectations.

I work in catering in Melbourne, a city with an international reputation for the best in cuisine. Naturally, Melburnians are demanding so Melbourne catering companies have to be on the ball.

Regardless of the style of event you are planning, and no matter where in the world you are, these tips can apply to finger food catering, corporate catering, function catering and party catering events.

Caterers need to work with you, their role is to share the vision of your event, contribute to the planning and give you the confidence that they will deliver to the level you desire.

When you are at the stage to consider your venue or wedding venue is the perfect time to instruct a caterer.

To find the caterer to perfectly complement your event, you should consider the following:

1. Previous success: A good caterer will be proud of their portfolio of events and be happy to show you examples.

2. Creativity: Your event needs to reflect what you want, a good caterer works with you to enhance and contribute ideas to your event.

3. Vision: A good caterer is able to understand what you want to achieve and work towards your goals, not force you to accept their ideas.

4. Food quality: Insist on sample dishes to test the quality of their cuisine.

5. Food preparation: Ask for a tour of their premises and to see the kitchen in action.

6. Detail: The devil is in the detail. You are planning an event in which everything must work seamlessly – this takes detail and planning.

7. Personality: You will be working closely with your caterer, so you need to hit it off.

8. Delivery: Ensure they are able to turn up, set up and deliver to your expectations.

9. Size does matter: a good catering company will be able to give you specific details regarding staff requirements.

10. On call: You should be able to reach your caterer and speak to them throughout during the lead up to and on the day of your event.

Corporate Catering and Function Catering

Corporate Catering or Function Catering in Melbourne?

We show you how to plan the best party or catering event possible.

Whether you are planning a party, wedding or corporate catering event, food and beverage are as vital to any event as its purpose – and, like everything in life, the success lies in the planning.

Every element has to be right – and ensuring it is means working with a talented event coordinator from the outset.

What really makes a party or event a success is employing the services of an extraordinary caterer: one who can guarantee the food is delicious, and whose expertise leaves you free to enjoy the event. And isn't that the point?

A first-rate, well-organised and supportive catering company will offer brilliant ideas to set the scene of your party or function, design imaginative and mouth-watering menus, and instil confidence in their ability to deliver without fault. Whether your occasion is a buffet, cocktail party, elegant dinner, BBQ or carvery, your caterer will help select food, refreshment and location, and a choice of wines to match the meal. An experienced and trustworthy caterer will always provide exceptional service and proficient staff.

Always have a budget in mind and be prepared to consider important additions to give your party or function an edge. Caterers should be able to develop menus and deliver cost estimates.

A professional caterer works with you, creating a timeline of events – arrival, set up, event length, tear down and clean up. A collaborative style works in your interest to create a pleasurable – and memorable – night.

Good caterers are happy to provide taste samples from your chosen menu. Fresh, local produce is, naturally, the vital ingredient for creating exceptional food. You should expect – and demand – that the quality of fare will equal that of your favourite restaurant.

A successful caterer works to develop a relationship of trust, openness, honesty and communication with clients and guests – this is the cornerstone of any well-respected caterer's business philosophy.

One long-established caterer who lives and works by these principles is Peter Hayton of ACC Advanced Catering Concepts.

Expression of Love with a Diamond Ring

Posted by Wealth Group | 8:18 PM | 0 comments »

Expression of love at perfect time, in perfect situation laced with a perfect gift can be a guarantee of approval. If you are into a relationship for a long time and you think that the girl can be your ideal partner for life, then you should not waste time and propose her as soon as possible. Because to love someone is not important, the most important thing is to let your beloved know that how much you love her. That will result a more pleasant and romantic life for both of you.

There are several ideal ways to express your love, that depends upon person interest. Some best ways of proposing your partners can be:

1. A simple note with your personal message delivered by mail, or a greeting card.

2. Live expression of love with a gift and a written note.

3. Proposing someone with a diamond ring, and conveying your willingness to spend your whole life with her.

The last way is the best way to propose any girl. A diamond ring is enough to describe the depth of you love and feelings. As, diamonds are said to be forever, and so will be your love. There can be no exciting and innovative way of love expression than expression with a diamond ring. So plan the day and situation in advance when you are going to propose her. Fix a date with the girl whom you are going to propose. Inviting for a candle light dinner at a calm and romantic place will really add magic. Arrange for some music if possible and your planning is complete, the only thing you need is an exclusive Diamond Ring, matching with choices of the recipient. Search for a Diamond Ring with best designs and materials, if you are going to propose a girl of your dreams, price should not be a factor. You can also engrave a personal romantic message on Diamond Ring dedicated to the girl in centre of your heart, mind and soul.

After all these planning, when you'll propose her even with a simple "I Love You" message and the diamond ring in your hands, in your own way, along with tunes of melodious and romantic music, it'll create a magical ambience for her, and she will be mesmerized by experiencing your affection and try feelings for her. No doubt, you'll have a pleasure of listening "I love you too" with a sensual kiss by your dream girl, and it'll be the best night for both of you. You'll cherish the moment for lifetime.

Looking online for Mens Wedding Rings?

Old Meets New In Tacori Mens Wedding Rings

Mens wedding rings by the craftspeople of the Tacorian family typify the expression "old wine in new bottles." Tacori engagement rings and other fine pieces of wedding jewelry – which include palladium wedding bands, celtic knot engagement rings and more – combine tradition and contemporary style in ways that are unique, yet difficult to appreciate unless one has actually seen them. The entire Tacori line of mens wedding rings and jewelry are one-of-a-kind pieces that represent the pinnacle of the jewelers' craft.

Space Age Materials

Although mens gold wedding rings remain as popular as ever, new space age materials are rapidly gaining in popularity. Tacori is among the those jewelers who have pioneered the use of such materials in their line of tungsten carbide wedding rings and palladium wedding bands. Tungsten was long used as filament material in old-style incandescent light bulbs; when alloyed with carbon, it is the stuff of rock drilling equipment. Palladium is an exceptionally hard and durable metal; with a melting point of nearly 3000 degrees Fahrenheit, it is both highly scratch and tarnish resistant. Unlike gold, which for all its luster is relatively soft and requires regular polishing, Palladium and tungsten-carbide jewelry will last for generations, making these pieces wonderful heirlooms.

Lasting Tradition

The Tacorian family's roots are in Armenia, the culture of which is very ancient and holds tradition in high regard. However, when it comes to Tacori engagement rings and other pieces, those traditions are not limited to the Caucasus region. Celtic knot engagement rings are among Tacori Jewelers' more popular products.

Although there is no historical nor anthropological evidence to indicate that Celtic knot patterns were ever anything more than decorative, they remain a cherished motif on women's and men's wedding rings.

The Tacorian family appreciates the contemporary as well; their pieces blend the clean, Machine Age influence of Art Deco with the baroque filigrees of Edwardian décor to create wedding jewelry that is truly one-of-a-kind. Incidentally, one of the unique features of this company's wedding jewelry pieces is that they are sold without gems mounted in place; therefore, Tacori mens diamond wedding rings do not actually include a diamond. The reason is that Tacorian jewelers believe that the customer should select the gem of his/her choice prior to mounting – yet another reason that Tacori engagement rings and wedding pieces are truly unique.

Whether it's men's wedding rings, Celtic knot engagement rings, palladium wedding bands or nearly anything else wedding-related, you'll find some of the finest pieces in the Tacorian collection. When planning for that special day, you owe it to yourself to take a look at Tacori women's and mens wedding rings first.

Finding Mens Wedding Bands

Posted by Wealth Group | 4:18 AM | 0 comments »

Diamond Wedding Rings – No Longer Just For Women

At one time, mens wedding bands did not even exist. They are a fairly recent phenomenon, having become common only in the past hundred years or so – and for much of that time, consisted of little more than a simple, unadorned gold ring. Mens wedding rings have changed considerably in the last few decades, however. Today, mens diamond wedding rings and exotic pieces made from platinum and palladium and even tungsten rings have largely replaced the old-fashioned mens wedding bands of yesterday.

Mens Jewelry

Of course, traditional mens gold wedding rings are still available, and even common. Many of these however contain mounted stones; not only are mens diamond wedding rings popular today, such rings may feature rubies, sapphires, emeralds or any number of precious stones. It is not even uncommon to have mens wedding bands engraved, either with a meaningful phrase, the wedding date, or some type of artistic design, such as Celtic knot work patterns.

Tough and Durable

Although weddings are often sentimental occasions, men in American society are still expected to exhibit a certain degree of "ruggedness" – and some of the alternative materials that go into today's mens wedding rings are a reflection of this.

For all their beauty and luster, mens gold wedding rings are relatively soft and easily scratched; they will also tarnish if not polished regularly. Today, tungsten rings as well as mens wedding bands made from platinum and palladium are common and quite popular. You may recall that tungsten is the metal used for old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs, while palladium is extremely hard and scratch resistant; such rings will last for several lifetimes, making them ideal heirlooms that will be cherished for generations.

The Tacorian Tradition

Some of the finest diamond wedding rings on the market today are those crafted and sold by the Tacorian family of Los Angeles. The Tacorian family escaped from Romania during the 1970s in the dark days of the Ceauşescu regime. When the eldest son realized he could earn more money in a week selling jewelry than his father made in a month at his job, Tacori Jewelers was born.

This company's line of fine mens jewelry includes mens wedding bands made from such exotic and durable metals. Tacori mens wedding rings are often made without stones so as to allow the purchaser to choose the gem that will be mounted; they also reflect a unique sense of style that combines the baroque elegance of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods with the sleek, industrial-influenced lines of the Art Deco movement. Tacori mens wedding bands are among the most treasured and stylish rings available for men.

Trends in Mens Jewelry Design

Most people think of jewelry as a "woman's thing," but the fact is that mens jewelry has been a tradition in many cultures throughout the world dating back to the Stone Age. In those days, mens jewelry consisted of necklaces made from the claws of animals or the bones of slain enemies (!) Among several North American Indian tribes, necklaces made from the wampum, or dentalia shells that were recognized as currency made such decoration practical as well.

Today, mens jewelry may also consist of necklaces, amulets and earrings. However, designer watches and mens diamond wedding rings are the most popular and best-selling items.

Wedding Bands Galore

There is nearly as much variety in wedding bands for men as there are for women. One of the latest trends in this area is palladium wedding bands.

While gold is traditional, it is a relatively soft metal. Palladium wedding bands are virtually indestructible, and will last for decades without scratching or tarnishing – which is not surprising, since the melting point of palladium is almost 3000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Men's watches are also popular, and are quite traditional as gifts from one man to another – in recognition of a job well done, to commemorate a special occasion, or as part of a rite of passage; a century ago, the gift of a pocket watch from a father to his son was often made to mark a boy's passage into manhood.

Wrist watches have existed for perhaps two hundred years, but until the early 20th century were considered effeminate (and were actually made for women). The advent of aviation changed all of that; pocket watches were not practical when it was necessary to keep one's hands on the controls of primitive aircraft at all times.

Citizen watches are a popular choice. These are excellent timepieces that have been manufactured in Japan since 1918, when the company was known as the Shoshoka Watch Institute. However, they represent only one brand of fine designer watches manufactured throughout the world.

Gifts for All Occasions

Mens jewelry is a gift that is appropriate not only for weddings, but graduations, bar-mitzvahs, the holidays, and even good old-fashioned birthdays. Whether it's designer watches or men's diamond wedding rings, you'll find an abundance of choices when considering mens jewelry as a gi
